TESTIMONIALS!

"It was also revealed that Salem State College freshman Gary Richard was a stand in for DS and Robert Brown on the far shots of the statue. He also helped the police keep the crowds at bay. Peter Alachi, a resident of Salem, is the one who discovered this and he has written an awesome book about BW filming in Salem. You can contact him through his site at Bewitched in Salem!"

David Pierce commenting on Season 7 episode, "Darrin on a Pedestal." Quoted from http://www.hometheaterforum.com

"I have to say for the, especially, the Salem’s Summer of Sam, the research is phenomenal, the things you’ve found are amazing…"

Radio Personality Jone Devlin, KPFT FM 90.1 Houston. October 30, 2006 Halloween Eve radio interview with Peter Alachi

"I had given Bill (Asher) a packet, which included a DVD of "FANatical", and Peter Alachi's books on the TV Land "Samantha" Statue, the filming of the Salem "Bewitched" episodes, and photos taken of the cast and crew while filming in Gloucester. He really enjoyed seeing the items, and as I looked though the scripts, Bill was reading Peter's book, smiling all the while!!!"

"A perfect preface to the upcoming release of Season 7."

"It is quite rare for a fan of Bewitched to come across behind-the-scenes stories not all ready found in what is considered to be the Bewitched Bible, Herbie J. Pilato's Bewitched Forever, but thanks to Peter Alachi (author of the cool 3-D booklet chronicling the arrival of the Samantha statue in Salem), we have some from the Salem episodes, considered to be the most memorable of the series, in his book Salem's Summer of Sam. The Salem episodes are a rarity in Bewitched history in the fact that they are the only episodes to have been filmed out in the "real" world, specifically Salem, Magnolia and Gloucester, Massachusetts. Peter, a resident of Salem, has gathered information from newspaper and magazine articles from the time and interviews with people who were in the Salem area at the time and condensed it into his book which is accented by rare photos of the cast, most coming from the personal collection of Mike Linquata, owner of the Gloucester House restaurant that was featured prominently in Episode #205: "Darrin on a Pedestal".

A great nugget of lost Bewitched trivia is the information given that Dick Sargent and Robert Brown (The Fisherman's Memorial statue) were not the only ones to play the bronze object of Serena's affection. It turns out a Salem College student, Gary Richard, was chosen to stand in for a few scenes as well as act as crowd control for all the adoring fans that came to view the filming. Not to mention the fact that the actual locale of the filming of the statue scenes took place a few yards down from the actual statue. There are many other little or unkown tidbits in this great addition to the Bewitched library, which no Bewitched fan should be without."

Hello, Peter:

Thanks so much for your speedy delivery of the book.

The 3-D effect is quite impressive as well. I don't even feel that silly wearing the glasses to get the image in focus.

Thanks again for publishing a book that every fan should have in their collection.

Dear Peter,

The book is awesome!! It's better than I expected it to be. You are a fantastic author and the photos are great!! Can't wait until the next book. I loved the newspaper clippings from when the cast was in Salem in 1970. I hope the next book has even more photos of the 1970 visit.

You put everything about the show and the statue in perfect perspective. It was like reliving that rainy day all over again!

While on the subject of your book, I forgot to tell you how much I liked the way you phrased," a TV sitcom that went beyond its primary goal of entertaining". You really get it! And I'm glad you're the one that wrote this book. I can't wait til the next book and I'll be telling my fellow "Sam-witches" about this one.

I just wanted to write and tell you that I am really enjoying what I have read so far in "Salem's Summer Of Sam"! The background info is wonderful and the photos are great!

Also, I couldn't resist taking a peek at a few of the 3D photos in "A Pictorial Tale Of The Bewitched Statue Of Salem,MA" You did a great job with the photos! Plus, they don't have that blurred look that other 3D photos have when you look at them without the glasses. So that is a big plus for me! But I will wait to read that book until after I have finished "Summer Of Sam" first.

I definitely recommend these two books to ANY fan of Elizabeth Montgomery and Bewitched!

Just a note to let you know I received the books on Saturday and have had the best time with them. Thanks so much for your hard work! It's been fascinating--and the 3-D is great fun!

Best twitches,
