No one could have predicted the impact of filming of "Bewitched" in Salem in June of 1970. Not even Mayor Samuel Zoll, who had enthusiastically welcomed the cast and later declared October 8, 1970 as "Bewitched Day" in Salem. No one that is except for Elizabeth Montgomery’s husband and show director, Bill Asher, who on June 22, 1970, predicted that "Liz will be directing traffic in Salem for many years to come." Indeed, thirty five years after the airing of the “Salem Saga” episodes, the self proclaimed Witch City became the controversial home of TV Land’s newest Landmark, the Samantha Stephens statue of "Bewitched." This story follows the "Bewitched" cast through Salem, Gloucester, and Magnolia over a period of six days and examines the impact the show had on Salem’s modern history. |
I
have very few of these left. This is a very rare publication featuring
the Bewitched Statue with inside photos and stories of grown-up Erin Murphy
standing next to her TV Mom's Statue, Samantha. Also a photo of young
Erin Murphy with the great actress Elizabeth Montgomery! Published
in October of 2005, a year that Salem celebrated Halloween with Harry
Potter and the new Bewitched statue of Samantha Stephens. A
must have collector's item for all Bewitched fans.
$9.95 for the Haunted Happenings Guide Featuring the Bewitched Statue,
Elizabeth Montgomery and Tabatha. "I
was a Teenage Science Project" is a great novel by the up and coming
Salem Author Patricia Reed. Remember the Misery of High School?! Well,
multiply it by 100! This is a fascinating book that is gripping, scary,
funny and evocative; you won't be able to put it down!! Highly recommended
for all ages, especially young adults. $19.95
